To eradicate Japanese knotweed completely in a 12 month period will require excavation and removal. How expensive this is and how feasible will depend on a number of factors. As a ball park figure I would say for a small infestation between £5-10,000.00. However a 3-year herbicide programme would only be around £1600.00 (incl VAT). Please contact us if you need a more specific quotation, it would be useful if you had some photographs of the property, showing the location of the Japanese knotweed and an idea of the area covered. The law concerning Japanese knotweed is covered by the Wildlife & Countryside Act (1981). However this is of little help to you, as it only concerns plants growing in the wild.
