Spring 2017 Knotweed Growth

Spring 2017 Knotweed Growth

Japanese knotweed after brush cutting

Japanese Knotweed Ltd is treating an area of Japanese knotweed to communal garages in South Norwood, London.

Our technicians visited the property a few weeks ago to undertake brush-cutting of the dead stands (last years' growth). The image above shows what the area looked like after the brush-cutting was completed.

Knotweed Spring GrowthThis week, our technicians were back at the property to undertake the first herbicide treatment of the year. The second image shows how fast Japanese knotweed grows at this time of year as it emerges from winter dormancy. The fences in the background are 6 foot tall and the knotweed hasn't finished its' spring growth spurt yet. It will reach an ultimate height of around 3.5m.

If you've noticed the sudden growth of a plant you can't identify, get in touch with us today. Japanese knotweed is better treated sooner rather than later. The sooner we start treating it, the easier it is to control and eradicate.
