Fluvial erosion is undermining the stability of a High Voltage electricity pylon located on the banks of the River Mersey, near Carrington, Manchester.  A major UK construction company is leading a project to stabilise the pylon, but the works are complicated by the presence of Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam, which are present as huge infestations to the area.
